Back to the
journey:
I have been
to Chakrata twice but could not get to Devban and Budher due to time
constraints and road conditions for Devban not suitable for cars. Therefore, I
plan on riding the bike to Chakrata at this time and finally ended up with 3
bikes and 6 tourists. One of my friends Lokesh Chauhan of NIIT Technologies
have recently become the proud owner of a Royal Enfield Classic350 and keen to
ride a bike Nainital
Trip and
agreed to the adventure. Harsh Kumar Chauhan, returned to India from his office
tour to Europe and seems excited and wants to ride a bike in the Himalayas.
Sanjay Kumar Kashyap, do not say no to a trip to the hill as long as it is free
from any constraint of time. Manish Kumar random Sukrawa comment on one of my
posts on FB about how we manage to keep the budget at the lower end. I advised
him to experience for himself and he okayed for a trip with his friend Yogesh.
A bridge
over the river Yamuna.
The next
morning, as we are determined to Devban, we left at 10 am headed Devban about
30 km from Chakrata. Of the 30, 15 km stretch is very deteriorated and suitable
for bicycles and SUVs with good ground clearance only. When we got there, I
found Devban pasture is maintained specifically for camping. The place is also
fenced off the whole and there are 4-5 platform to mount the tent, if you have
one. Otherwise we have to take Permiss before
